Senior Ride Development Specialist - Remote Opportunity

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop "clean sheet" concept rides that meet creative intent and partner requirements
  • Distill and organize technical requirements from high-level insight/story descriptions and artwork
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define system requirements and interface specifications
  • Lead the daily activities of a design and engineering team through all phases of work, including planning, mockups, production, installation, testing, turnover, and close-out efforts
  • Develop and manage project documentation, including scope, analysis, testing, risk, and report records
  • Oversee vendor/contractor management and supervision
  • Lead digital model and drawing development, release, and delivery
  • Conduct large-scale verification of concept model and prototype efforts; plan/fab/test
  • Collaborate with the project procurement team to evaluate, bid, and award external vendor contracts
  • Lead/manage the installation of ride mechanical equipment, field support, and testing

Requirements:

  • Relevant mechanical engineering experience
  • Advanced engineering knowledge (e.g., statics, dynamics, resistances, kinematics, stress/strain)
  • Advanced engineering expertise (e.g., machine design, weldments, power train, materials)
  • Proficiency with design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Navisworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, ANSYS, FEA, Matlab)
  • Excellent design sensibilities and creative problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Past Disney or entertainment experience, with in-depth knowledge of the industry
  • Experience with life safety design/requirements
  • Experience with prototype, development, or innovative products
  • Technical certifications (EIT, FE, PE)
