About the position Responsibilities • Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non-profit clients. • Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission. • Prepare financial reporting for management and Board decision making and presentations. • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures. • Handle transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close. • Conduct analysis and data visualization, budgeting, and forecasting. • Manage grant management, allocations, and funder reporting. • Prepare for and manage annual audits. • Provide client and staff training opportunities. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance. • 5-7 plus years accounting experience. • Experience working in a remote environment preferred. • Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basis. • Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills. • Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systems. • Non-profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience is a plus but not required. • CPA certification is a plus. • Bilingual-English/Spanish a plus. Nice-to-haves • Experience in nonprofit accounting or consulting is a plus. • Familiarity with various GL packages and electronic bill pay systems.
