We are looking for a highly motivated, team player to create, develop, and edit operational and instructional documentation and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information, identify target audiences and determine technical documentation needs for PeopleFluent Products! The Senior Technical Writer provides leadership for the information development associated with identified product efforts. As the project champion, the Senior Technical Writer leads and performs complex design and documentation development tasks within appropriate schedule, assignment, and quality guidelines set in conjunction with Product Management, Engineering and Customer Success. Responsibilities • Acts as the lead on a significant documentation project and can deal with select management activities (such as coordinating support from other Technical Writers to deliver release deliverables) • Owns responsibility for an entire project, including research, analysis, design, task breakdown, and input to management for scheduling and resource allocation • Works with QA to determine quality plans • Leads efforts to design multiple, integrated documentation modules to meet project requirements • Articulates the impact that project issues will have on other team members • Estimates tasks, efforts, and resource requirements and works with project and Documentation managers in setting appropriate schedule, task, and quality guidelines of the project • Monitors project status and reports progress to project and Documentation managers • Specifies, creates, modifies, maintains, and evaluates significant documentation components which are part of a larger software project • Regularly contributes to and conducts documentation reviews within the organization. Champions the benefits of these reviews with other teams • Identifies and champions opportunities to advance documentation in the company • Maintains the integrity of assigned components within the (integrated) documentation library throughout the life cycle • Judges adherence of design, writing, and graphics to standards • Makes recommendations on product design and implementation Requirements • 4+ years of experience as a Technical Writer on software development projects is required • A track record of delivering projects with a high level of quality within committed time frames and schedules • Project experience authoring online help in Adobe RoboHelp is required • Project experience delivering documentation authored in Adobe FrameMaker is required • Experience working with remote teams • Experience working in an Agile development environment • Experience working with wikis • Ability to work across functional areas (Support, Professional Services, etc.) within the company • Experience with any of the following would be a plus: • documenting an enterprise software product • domain knowledge of human resources or eLearning • experience with Adobe Captivate • Bachelor’s degree • Working knowledge of documentation development and production processes • Knowledge of how web and database applications work • Strong organizational and time management skills • Ability to quickly learn business applications being developed • Ability to explain complex topics to a variety of audiences • Ability to manage tasks across multiple projects in parallel • Experience in analysis and design techniques for documentation • Ability to work with minimal supervision on documentation assignments • Attention to detail About PeopleFluent For any organization, and especially those in high-stakes industries, managing your talent is an important job — and the tools to manage talent are constantly changing; hence, PeopleFluent has actively been acquiring and merging new products and brands and is looking for talented individuals to transition into the leading HR tech provider in the space.
