About the position
Responsibilities
• Apply specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental, emotional, behavioral and developmental disorders, conditions and addictions.
• Administer and interpret tests and measures of psychosocial functioning for the purpose of diagnosing mental, emotional, behavioral, addictive and developmental disorders and disabilities.
• Develop and implement appropriate assessment-based treatment plans.
• Consult with team manager, statutory and voluntary agencies and patient's relatives to ensure compliance with the patient's treatment plan.
• Provide crisis-oriented psychotherapy as well as short-term and long-term psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic treatment.
• Document patient therapy in accordance with both federal and state regulations.
Requirements
• Licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW).
• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical setting, with a focus on serving under-served populations.
• Demonstrated ability to assess and diagnose mental health issues and develop treatment plans.
• Proficient in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to cultural competence and understanding of the social determinants of health affecting under-served communities.
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
