Entry Level Substation Electrical Engineer - 2580

About the position Responsibilities • Perform high voltage substation design, including electrical installation design and PR&C design with an emphasis on continuous improvement. • Prepare one-line diagrams, electrical installation plans, electrical installation section views, electrical installation details, below grade grounding & conduit plans, and cable schedules in accordance with governing industry code and client standards. • Prepare panel elevations and PR&C schematic, wiring, and interconnection diagrams in accordance with governing industry code and client standards. • Prepare auxiliary power equipment sizing calculations. • Perform complex engineering calculations/studies related to substation projects such as: lightning protection, conduit fill, AC/DC station service loading, surge arrester sizing and voltage drop. • Create SCADA RTU control, status and analog point lists. • Prepare construction drawings with the assistance of a designer/technician competent in the use of industry standard CADD software, and in accordance with client standards. • Prepare construction specifications, project documents, and bill of material lists, in accordance with both client and industry standards. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. • Zero to three years of experience in a related field. • Completion of Part I of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (preferred). • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam Revu (preferred). • Strong written and verbal communication/coordination skills.
