Core and Terminals Network Standards Architect
About the position
Responsibilities
• Support the Core & Terminals network design from a Standards perspective.
• Ensure 4G, 5G, and Next Gen network Standards are defined and meet feature requirements and performance objectives.
• Analyze and design CT architecture layers (protocols, APIs, policy, interworking) to optimize networks for innovative applications.
• Develop relationships with external parties and influence direction in industry bodies.
• Serve as a 3GPP domain expert and influential delegate in key workgroups.
• Evaluate and author 3GPP technical contributions and drive Verizon positions.
• Collaborate with diverse minds on a global scale in a supplier-led environment.
• Support the development of a 3+ year technology strategic view on Core/RAN.
• Demonstrate excellent working relationships with various teams including Network Planning and Engineering.
• Mentor and guide other delegates and SMEs to increase technical competency.
• Independently manage complex technical projects and lead industry standard meetings.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to travel up to approximately 25%-50% of the time.
Nice-to-haves
• Master's degree or Doctorate in Engineering, Computer Science, and/or Telecommunications or any related field.
• Relevant work experience in Core and Service Architecture.
• Proven Leadership experience in 3GPP, GSMA, ATIS, ETSI, and relevant Standards Bodies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
