Remote Summer Internship
Overview
Lifeway is searching for a Production Editor Intern for Lifeway Kids Publishing. The Production Editor Intern will learn the process of church curriculum development and be responsible for editing curriculum materials for grammar, punctuation, and style. This individual will be given the opportunity to speak into the active development of multiple Lifeway brands such as Bible Studies for Life, Explore the Bible, Hyfi, and The Gospel Project.

The Lifeway Internship Program is designed to provide college students and recent college graduates a valuable learning experience where they can grow professionally, personally, and spiritually. Our internships offer significantly more than "busy work." As an intern, you'll receive professional development and leadership training, exposure to senior leaders, and mentoring relationships with professionals in your field.
Internship Program Details/Requirements
Lifeway's summer internship program offers a competitive hourly pay rate, all necessary equipment will be provided Interns work 32 hours per week on average with Tuesday - Thursday as required core workdays Interns must commit to participate in the entirety of the program: June 3 - August 9, 2024 (10 weeks) Candidates must be currently enrolled at a college or university in an undergraduate or graduate program, and have fully completed at least two years of study. Recent graduates are eligible if they graduated the semester immediately prior (December 2023 or May 2024 graduates only)
Interns will receive development each week
Interns will work remotely throughout the program with the exception of orientation and end-of-summer presentations. Lifeway will cover the cost of travel to Nashville
Internship applications are due by January 15, we will begin interviews once the applications are closed. Selections are finalized by April 1
This is a remote position in the U.S. with travel to Nashville at the beginning and end of the summer, cost for travel is covered by Lifeway.
Responsibilities
Perform production and copy editing tasks such as editing for grammar, punctuation, and style and proofreading Review content in various phases, from concept to finished product Work to meet production schedule deadlines Verify biblical references
Cross reference multiple publications within a product family
Soft proof pages from the printer May assist in writing blog content
Qualifications
Live out , showing deep commitment to Kingdom work Major in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Christian Studies, English, and/or Journalism, or related field of study
Proficiency with Microsoft Word
Some experience with Kids ministry (birth - preteens) Adobe InCopy or InDesign experience preferred Knowledge of copyediting terms/marks preferred
Familiarity with the editing process preferred
