Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic mid-level Plumbing Designer or Engineer to join our team. This role is vital in driving our project success across a range of sectors, including multifamily, affordable housing, commercial office, tenant improvements, hospitality, and other market sector projects. You will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in plumbing design to create effective and sustainable solutions, with a focus on integrating energy-efficient designs and ensuring compliance with local codes and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support plumbing design for various project types and deliver projects across multiple delivery models, including design/bid/build, design assist, and design build.
• Design plumbing systems, including calculations of water, gas, sanitary/sewer, and storm loads.
• Coordination of water, gas, and sewer connections with civil engineers and architects
• Develop project specifications and perform site evaluations.
• Attending meetings with clients and project teams.
• Develop contract drawings from Schematics through Construction Documents.
• Establishing design standards and criteria for projects, preparing calculations, reports, and specifications
• Performing fire suppression system selection, preparing preliminary designs, and creating performance specifications.
• Proactively enhance technical quality by staying updated with emerging technologies, evolving building codes, and advancements in the industry.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment to produce integrated project documents, ensuring cohesive design strategies and solutions.
• Engage in the development of tools and templates.
• Contribute to the growth and management of the plumbing department.
• Manage projects efficiently, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and adherence to quality control processes.

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum: 2-5 years' experience in plumbing engineering within the construction industry
• Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office products
• 2-5 years' experience modeling plumbing systems & compiling construction documents in Revit
• Experience with UPC Appendix M Peak Water Demand Calculations
• Minimum of 2-5 years' experience with Seattle and WA building codes
• Must be located within the Seattle area to support in person meetings as needed (Hybrid once physical office has been identified)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
• Expert knowledge of Washington State and Seattle codes, sustainable design, and heat pump water heating system design.
• Experience designing and coordinating heat pump water heating systems.
• Experience designing and coordinating rainwater/greywater harvesting systems.
• CPD or CPDT is preferred.
• PE license is preferred.
• LEED AP is preferred.
